Many composers of the early 20th century went through periods of historical reference in “neo” styles, most commonly neoclassical as in Stravinsky or Prokofiev. This work takes that approach, and gives each movement a different set of historical parameters. The first movement follows a twelve tone row, the second is a humorous scherzo, and this third features expansive romantic lyricism.
